“Moruya and Batemans Bay share the same water source,” a Eurobodalla Shire Council spokeswoman said.
“Council will carry out additional sampling at the Batemans Bay CWA, both internally and at the boundary, to confirm whether or not lead is an issue.”
Council’s water supply is regularly monitored at 33 sites, 23 in the north and 10 in the south.
“Water in our northern scheme is tested 12 times a year. The sampling is rotated through the 23 monitoring sites,” she said.
“The NSW Health’s Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) value for lead is 0.01 milligrams (10 micrograms) per litre.
“If any sample analysis results exceed this, council would be notified immediately.”
