WAGGA Base Hospital's main footpath will be closed to pedestrians next week as the site's redevelopment enters its final stage. Temporarily closed from 7am on December 9, the Lewis Drive footpath will be inaccessible for a week to allow for paving and landscape works. During this time, pedestrians will be diverted through the closed main entry car park. A traffic controller will be on site to ensure the safety of pedestrians due to heavy vehicles on site for the Stage 3 project. Pedestrians are urged to take care as they make their way around the health campus, and motorists are reminded of the 10km/h speed limit in the area. Construction of the new Stage 3 building is due for completion and operational commissioning in early 2021.
