Patron of RSL Auxiliaries is Mr. Dennis Wilson, husband of Governor of NSW the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC.
In June 2019 Batemans Bay RSL Women's Auxiliary celebrated their 70th birthday. During this time local ladies have been fund raising for serving and ex-serving men and women from our defence forces.
In the beginning doing catering for different functions, as well as assisting the sub-Branch in selling badges on Anzac Day, poppies for Remembrance Day also helping Legacy, this still continues today. In 2003 the Women's Auxiliary started the "One Cent Auction " as their major fund-raiser.
Now in 2020 things have changed, we are no longer the Women's Auxiliary as we welcome men to join. Although we have always worked closely with our local sub-Branch we are now part of them and together we will still be working to aid Defence Care and helping veterans in our community.
The " Cent Auction" is always held on the third Wednesday of the month at 2pm in the Soldiers Club. It will be held next Wednesday, February 19, in "The Bubble" as our usual venue is being used for the Recovery Centre since the bushfires. Come along and join in the fun, lots of prizes to be won as well as a Trading Table with plenty of home made items our member make.
New members are always welcome to join the Auxiliary, call Tricia on 4472 1343.
