Stay safe everyone and be sensible. The fires seem to be heading slowly down the coast towards Eurobodalla. Tonight after you watch Neighbours or Home and Away, perhaps do a reconnoitre of your yard and make sure there is nothing that those hungry sparks flying in the wind might like to feed on. Clean out your gutters and plan for the worst contingency, especially be mindful of your pets and elderly neighbours.
Happy belated birthday this week to gorgeous Moruya mum Ammanda Donnelly. I hope you had a great day Ammanda and the kids spoilt you rotten!
It was so good to see Anthony and Christine Pridgeon in town recently catching up with old friends and family. Christine and Anthony are expats who now live in Roxby Downs in SA and Christine was a well known gal about town when she lived here.
We have a star in our midst! B and S Spray Painters are so proud of first-year apprentice spray painter Greg McEwen! He won the PPG (the biggest paint company in Australia) sponsorship for the next two years in the Canberra campus.
Pretty good for a regional shop when you think he was up against the Canberra apprentices! He was gifted with a spray gun, an air fed mask and spray suit and he also gets two days twice a year at PPG. I wonder if he would be interested in touching up my little hottie?
Joy Dillon and her sister Kay Hallam are currently sipping Mai Tais on Waikiki beach. These two gals certainly believe in "Carpe Diem" and rightly so!
Linda Knight with her youngest daughter Chloe is finally back in the Bay after an exciting bonding "mother and daughter" holiday to the tennis in Perth. They threw in a side trip to Rottnest Island and got up close with the local wildlife.
Due to the hot weather, snakes are already on the move so be very careful, especially with little kids. Snakes love to hang around dams, creeks and water sources, so be on the look out. Brown and red bellies have been seen.
Last week, Zara White of Moruya held a wonderful fund-raiser at her beautiful property, adjacent to the Moruya river. Zara and friends recently lost a friend to that dreadful condition, Motor Neurone Disease, so they decided to hold a charity High Tea to raise money for research into that disease.
More than 50 people attended at Zara's lovely home and were waited on by very capable young waiters offering drinks and food. A total of over $2200 was raised on the day, with an entry fee, raffles and crafty stalls, where many bargains were found.
