The Batemans Bay Garden Club monthly meeting was quickly completed and followed by the usual delicious afternoon tea break. The Annual General Meeting was then conducted.

President Magda Smyth delivered the President's report, outlining the previous year's activities and thanked the outgoing committee for their efforts and support. Magda also reported that the club was in a strong position with new members continuing to join.
Magda then presented outgoing Secretary, Anne Kirkness, with a life membership for her efforts on the behalf of the club, including nine years on the committee.
Treasurer Helen Wearn then presented the (audited) Treasurer's report which indicated the club is financially stable and secure.
President Magda then declared all committee positions vacant and an election for the new committee was held.
The Committee for 2019-2020 will be President Magda Smyth, Secretary Jackie McKimmie, Treasurer Helen Wearn, Committee Members Barry Hart, David Kemp, Sandra Martin, Laurine Alves, Colleen Wilson, Robyn Carey and Virginia Pascoe.
Forty club members enjoyed a sunny, relaxed and friendly barbecue picnic at Nelligen on August 16.
The next monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, August 29, at 2pm in the Anglican Church Hall, with guests always welcome.
The guest speaker for September is Leanne Ovington, Director of Nursing and Midwifery at Moruya and Batemans Bay Hospitals.
