Well my sister and I had a lovely weekend in Sydney and arranged to meet long lost cousins for a night out at (now) upmarket Redfern. We were a bit confused so we asked directions. After chatting for a while, as we both do, to the helpful stranger, Icommented that he would be lucky to make it up the street alive, as he was wearing a Queensland jersey. He said he wasn't worried because he was Jonathan Thurston's uncle! So Uncle Willy showed us where to go and is now a firm friend!
Happy birthday last Monday to gorgeous Jo Elphick from Long Beach, university student extraordinaire. Did you get away from the books for a big piece of cake Jo? I hope so!
A farewell morning tea was held at Maranatha to bid goodbye to Leah Holmes who has been a stalwart there for the last 15 years. Leah will be greatly missed by the patients, the families and her fellow staff members. Always smiling, always "on top" of whatever was happening, she was an asset to Maranatha and I wish her the very best that life can bring.
That handsome hunk from Coila way, Mark Minehan, also celebrated with a big day Monday past.
Cheryl Fenton from Surf Beach celebrated on Tuesday and although a birdie told me she is well over 21, she sure doesn't look it!
I have an idea, I need feedback. Like many other Batemans Bay folk, I live out past "two-storey hill" and I would love to be able to ride my pushbike into town but at my age (25), it's difficult getting over those hills without having a heart attack. Wouldn't it be nice if there was somewhere at Batehaven where you could store your bike and drive there, park your car and then ride your bike into Orient St?
We would all be getting fit, which is what we are encouraged to do, we would be saving more cars in the CBD and we would be spending money once we got there ... on long cold drinks! Let me know what you think, email rdtsimpson@bigpond.com and if it's a positive response, I will take it up with the Shire to provide an accessible bike shed at Corrigans Beach.
That fabulous gal about Tomakin town, Jean Taunton, would be briskly walking around the block this morning after celebrating her birthday yesterday.
Kathy Muir, also from Tomakin, was inundated with friends yesterday to help her "over the hill". Those days at Telopea Park High School are just a distant memory!
Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer ... it comes back as a Tupperware lid that doesn't fit any of your containers
