In the competition ring, Magda Smyth and Nalu were successful in Utility Dog Class, coming first with a score of 188/200.
This gave them their first pass towards their Obedience Champion title, which requires them to achieve a score of 185 and above at five trials.
This is extremely difficult to achieve. There were 12 dogs entered and Magda and Nalu were the only ones to pass at this level.
A wonderful achievement and we wish them all the best in the upcoming trials this weekend.
In Community Companion Dog class, Bill Dobson with his German shepherd, Chief, were successful in gaining their first pass.
This was their first obedience trial and they have been regularly participating in training classes twice a week.
All the hard work has been worth it and they should have their title at this level in the very near future.
Unfortunately the rest of the competitors from our club were not as successful, but they managed some wonderful work with their canines.
Term 1 obedience classes are on Wednesdays, starting at 6.30pm at the Moruya Showgrounds.
Our regular classes are conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where dogs learn to socialise with other dogs in a calm way.
It’s a terrific way to get out and about, learn new tricks with our dogs, so put on your comfy shoes and enjoy the outdoors with like-minded people and their canine mates.
All handlers and dogs are most welcome to join our Club. Dogs must be fully vaccinated and the relevant paperwork is required when joining.
Enquiries can be made by calling Magda Smyth on 44711440. Further information and registration forms are available from our web page www.eurocanine.webs.com, our facebook page or by emailing us eurodogclub@outlook.com.
