Bay Post/Moruya Examiner reporter Kate Lockley has won the Pat Riggs Award as NSW’s most outstanding Australian Community Media cadet.
The award is in memory of the late Pat Riggs, the Walkley award-winning former editor of The Macleay Argus.
It is given each year to a Fairfax regional NSW cadet who demonstrates outstanding journalistic skills, as well as strong relationships within the local community.
Pat Riggs Memorial Trust chairman Terry Hunt drove from Kempsey to Batemans Bay to present Ms Lockley with her award.
Ms Lockley joined the Bay Post as a first-year cadet in August 2016.
She covers everything from emergency services to community events.
