4.45pm: Fire crews are rushing to a fire at Surf Beach near the tip.
Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews from Surf Beach, Malua Bay and Broulee are attending.
Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue crews are attending.
It is the second fire in bushland near the tip within a few weeks.
An RFS spokesman confirmed the fire was in the same area as an August 17, 2017, blaze.
“We are still getting trucks on scene,” he said.
Denhams Beach resident Peter Learmont said strong gusty winds are blowing.
The forecast for today was westerly winds of 30-40km/h, decreasing to 20-25km/h in the late evening.
