Bystander Ted Richards said firefighters arrived on scene at about 8.30am and the vessel was later refloated and lifted out of the water with a crane at about 4pm.
“At the time they didn't know why it had sunk,” Mr Richards said.
“A (private) four-wheel drive with a winch attached a cable to keep it steady while the hazmats were put in place using an oyster farmer's boat.”
