Luke Coffey, engineering student from Sydney, called at the Bay for a few days on his way to Sydney hitch-hiking from Melbourne. Luke was amazed at the friendliness of the locals. As well as a trip down the coast whale watching, he was also invited for a free surfing lesson by Betty Gallen's daughter.
Lesley Blackwood from Batemans Bay has just returned from a fortnight with her daughter and family in Sydney. Whilst there, Lesley was able to see her little granddaughter, Zali, take her first steps.

Social butterfly Vi Merritt is still living the high life in Melbourne. Vi travelled south to attend her great-grandaughter Violet’s 2nd birthday lunch and is staying with friends in Melbourne. Vi loves getting the tram across the street to and from town, going to see Van Gogh exhibition and lunching at The Conservatory restaurant at the Casino.

How wonderful, we are getting a book store in town again! Hopefully opening July 20, in The Village Centre. The Hayes family already have book stores in Bowral and Picton and now will have one in the Bay. There will be hundreds of books with crates being unloaded daily. The manager of the shop will be gorgeous Sophie Spurway.
Sara Gardner drover her mum Celia Whittaker to Wollongong to visit her dad John. Sara's daughter Shyann competed in the Carrol College AFL on Monday against Batemans Bay. Carrol College had a win so Shyann was feeling pretty pleased.
