The Far South Coast has escaped major flooding but the Eurobodalla Shire Council remind residents to avoid swimming during and immediately after wet weather.
A spokeswoman for the council said waterways may be polluted after heavy rains and swimming is not recommended for at least one day at ocean beaches and three days at estuarine swimming areas.
Signs of water pollution include discoloured water, strong smelling drains, or street litter or plant debris on the tide line.
