Alison Cooper and Martin Daniels have created a replica Victorian toy theatre, with characters and scenery based on the local bush-rangers.
A museum spokesperson said toy theatres were popular in the mid to late 19th century. They ranged from simple coloured paper on cardboard to ornately-gilded replicas of actual theatres; where children recreated favourite stories or made up their own, often based on notorious murders of the day, which always captured the public's imagination.
The Old Courthouse Museum is open from 10am to 3pm, Tuesday to Thursday, and 10am to 1pm on the second Sunday of each month.
