Emergency services were originally called to a grass fire on private property at South Head Road, Moruya, about 11am on Sunday, January 8.

A spokesman for the RFS said crew from Moruya had monitored the site daily since the original fire.
“The area has a thick layer of duff where fire can smolder,” he said.
Moruya RFS crew have used technology such as infra-red cameras to detect hot-spots in the duff.
There has been no damage to property.
