A Batehaven man with a history of violent abuse against his partner has found himself behind bars after confessing to intimidating her during a drunken dispute.
Forty-six-year-old Todd Robert Norrie pleaded guilty, via a letter to the court, to intimidating his on and off domestic partner of six years, in Merimbula in September 2016.
After staying up all night drinking with his neighbour, Norrie took offence to his partner advising him he should sober up and sleep.
Facts state he then became abusive and threatening, pulling a bar heater from the loungeroom wall, throwing it across the room
Norrie was later arrested in Batehaven and charged at Batemans Bay Police Station on December 12
“Mr Norrie, you know what to expect,” magistrate Doug Dick said during sentencing on January 10 inside Bega Local Court.
“I’ve got no options today.
“I have a job to do and that is protect victims.”
Norrie will be eligible for parole in early May and will undergo strict conditions upon release.
