The man, believed to be a Eurobodalla resident, was cut free from the wreckage when firefighters cut two doors from his car, which was upside down in the gutter beside the west bound lane.
Paramedics stabilised his condition while he was suspended in his seatbelt.
He had been heading to Batemans Bay.
9.45AM: One man is trapped and emergency services are working to release him from the wreckage.
The car has flipped next to the westbound lane and the driver is hanging from his seatbelt. He is the sole occupant and no other vehicle is involved in the crash.
Traffic is being alternated under stop/slow traffic conditions.
8.45AM: Emergency services are on their way to a car accident at Currowan on the Kings Highway, 25km west of Batemans Bay.
The accident was reported at 8.39am Tuesday.
Police and the fire brigade are on their way to the accident scene. Motorists have been advised to exercise caution.
