The funding is the result of a meeting between representatives from Community Life Batemans Bay, which runs Hope Place, and Community Services Minister Brad Hazzard, Bega MP Andrew Constance and Christian Democrat Paul Green earlier this month.
Community Life board member John Miller said it was “huge news”.
He said the details would be confirmed at a meeting between Community Life and Department of Family and Community Services representatives in Queanbeyan on Monday.
“We were skating on thin ice financially, and now we can look forward to being able to help more homeless people,” he said.
“It will allow us to put in place more systems and help with utility costs.”
Details on the grant were not available from Mr Constance’s office by the time of print
