On February 27, he hosted Eurobodalla Kidney Health Day at his regular Friday stall at Bridge Plaza in Batemans Bay.
Brad, a kidney and pancreas transplant recipient and double leg amputee, is the founder of the Eurobodalla Renal Support Group and Organ Donor Awareness.
He reported that the kidney health day was well attended, and that he had help from Dan Glaubert, NSW Kidney Health Australia’s health services manager, to spread the good word about kidney health.
“Accompanying Dan was Billy the Kidney - Kidney Health Australia’s mascot,” Brad said.
“Plenty of people stopped by for a free blood pressure check conducted by our Eurobodalla Community Nursing staff, and a big thank-you goes to them.
“Lisa Kennedy, Eurobodalla Health Services general manager, also called in to meet Billy the Kidney, and it was great to see Eurobodalla Shire councillor Danielle Brice as well as Eden-Monaro MP Peter Hendy.
“Thanks to everyone for all their help to get this very important health message out to the community.”
If you missed Brad on Friday, you can catch up with him on March 8 at Bunnings in Batemans Bay from 10am.
