Sacred Heart Parish Catholic Church Moruya will begin the festivities with a Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper, which will include foot washing, at 7.30pm.
A stations service will be held at the church at 9am on Good Friday, and a Passion of Our Lord service at 3pm.
There will be a Saturday vigil service at 7pm and on Easter Sunday a service will be held at 8am at The Pines at Tuross Head, and at 10am at Moruya.
“We will be having a fire and candles outside the church on Saturday night, and on Sunday we will be explaining Easter to children,” Parish priest Father Emil Milat said.
St John’s Anglican Church in Moruya will have a Holy Thursday service, which will include foot washing and stripping of the altar, at 5pm tomorrow afternoon.
On Good Friday the church will hold a service at 10am.
“We will be praying in solidarity with people suffering in the world today,” Church minister Reverend Linda Chapman said.
“We are aiming to have stations where anyone who would like to can pour jugs of water into bowls to symbolise bowls of lament.”
The church will follow this with a Light of New Fire service featuring the lighting of the new Pascal candle and a short, prayerful vigil at 6pm on Saturday night.
An Easter Sunday service will be held at the Mossy Point headland at 7am and services will be held at St Andrew’s church at Tuross Head at 8am and St John’s Church at Moruya at 9.45am.
Reverend Colin Walters will preside over his first Easter services as rector of Batemans Bay Anglican Church of the Ascension. It will begin with a Maundy Thursday service at 7.30pm at the church in Herarde Street. The church will host 9am and noon services on Good Friday and a Saturday night service at 7.30pm.
On Easter Sunday there will be 6am services at Malua Bay and South Durras, and an 8am service and 10am service at the church at Batemans Bay.
Batemans Bay Uniting Church will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 5.30pm at the church at Hanging Rock.
On Good Friday the service will be at 9.30am and on Easter Sunday at 9am.
Moruya Uniting Church will hold services on Good Friday at 8am and on Easter Sunday at 11am.
Cross Central at Surfside will hold a candlelight communion service at 7pm on Good Friday and celebration services at 9am and 10.15am on Easter Sunday.
