A man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly assaulting a woman with a hammer and blinding her in the left eye during a domestic dispute at Wallaga Lake, south of Narooma.

About 3am on Saturday emergency services were called to a house on Umbarra Road, where they found the injured woman.
The 36-year-old was taken to Bega Hospital and then transferred to Canberra Hospital for treatment of facial fractures after allegedly being hit with a claw hammer.
Police from the Far South Coast Local Area Command are continuing their investigations into the matter and have now charged a man over the alleged assault. He is in custody to appear before Batemans Bay Bail Court today, Sunday.
About 8.50am on Saturday the 39-year-old man was dropped off at Narooma before attending the local police station.
He was arrested by police and charged with attempted murder and recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Investigators are now appealing for the motorist, who dropped the man off in Narooma, to come forward.
He is described as being an elderly man, about 170-175cm tall with a medium build and wearing a red jumper and dark-coloured pants.
Police believe he picked up the 39-year-old man on the Princes Highway at Tilba between 6am and 8am on Saturday before driving to Narooma.
