Today I feel as useless as the 'g' in lasagne
Charles Dickens said: “I will honour Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year.” Wouldn't it be nice if we could all do that? To those enjoying Christmas in July gatherings … keep the spirit alive! I'm heading to Canberra to meet old friends for Christmas In July at the Kurrajong Hotel. I'll eat a pudding (or two) for you.
Happy birthday to Colleen Colebrook from the Bay. Looking good, Colleen, and good to see your hubby still loves to take you for coffee.
Sal Smith-Bath and husband Lyell, from Corowa, popped into the Bay to surprise Sal's mum, Barbara Smith, who just happened to be in The Village Centre. Sal and Lyell were on their way to The Blue Mountains for Christmas In July and took a “quick” side trip to the Bay – probably to warm up.
Gorgeous Catriona Kennedy, from Broulee, will be blowing out just a few candles tomorrow as she celebrates her big day.
Don't forget to support Michele Taylor and I as we set off next month to deliver goods to the women and children at the town camps in Alice Springs. Charity begins at home.
Well known voice on local @EAR radio Maggie Nadal is off. Maggie came to Broulee permanently in 2009, after having grown up in Canberra and spending all of her holidays here on the coast since 1954.
Her first love was the theatre, having appeared in Sydney and Canberra, also working as a voice over artist in both cities. Maggie appeared in three productions for Bay Theatre Players and then found 2EAR FM in 2012 and became a breakfast presenter on Mondays. Having thoroughly enjoyed her time with 2EAR FM over five years, it is time to move on.
Maggie and George are moving to Port Stephens to be closer to family and to be a little bit warmer in winter! Her last show is July 31 – where she will bid a fond farewell to all the listeners that she feels have become her friends. All the best in their new adventure.
Mrs. Farrington-Smyth has moved on from Mr Ireland and is planning her Christmas In July bash. She wants some “big” guys to play Santa and meet her under the Christmas tree … anyone?
