In Utility Dog Class, Magda Smyth and Nalu were first, scoring 176/200. This was their first foray at this level, which is the second highest level in obedience you can compete in.
Even sweeter was that they were the only combination who passed at this level from a field of over 20. Well done.
In Open Dog Class, Wayne Kelly and Danny were second, scoring 189/200. They only require one more pass for their title at this level. In Community Companion Dog Class, Colin Walters and Meeka were successful at two trials, coming 3rd and 4th.
They need one more pass at this level for their title. Colin was competing at his first official obedience trial, so this was a fabulous result for both Colin and Meeka.
At the Rally O trials, Jan Boyce trialled her 3 dogs, Pocket was 1st in Rally Novice scoring 96/100, Rebel gained a pass at Rally Advanced level and Stormi gained a pass at Rally Excellent. Lyn Watcham and Molly scored 92/100 and a pass towards their Rally Champion title. Helen Rand with Holly was 2nd in Rally Novice and scored 92/100. They require one more pass for their title. Congratulations to all these triallers.
Some of our Club members are competing at Sapphire Coast in both Conformation and Obedience classes, followed by Milton Show in a few weeks time.
At our first term intake for the year, we had 42 new members joining our club with 28 canines participating in our beginner’s class, along with our regular classes having numerous handler and dog combinations returning for more training and further advancing their obedience skills.
At present, we are running seven classes each week and around 60 participants are enjoying our classes.
For our new members, remember a bit of perseverance, determination and small amounts of practice of the exercises taught to you will often take you a long way.
If you are interested in joining the club, please check our website, www.eurocanine.webs.com, or call Magda on 44711440.
