The results came through on Thursday, November 4 and will be added to figures announced by Southern NSW Local Health District on Friday, November 5.
NSW Health has said it will continue to contact people who are close contacts of a COVID case.
However residents can now receive push notifications on COVID-19 case locations on the Service NSW app (this is the app used to check in at venues) so that they are alerted to potential exposure risks as soon as possible.
Push notifications are in addition to the red icon that appears in the check-in history of a person who has been to a venue on the same day as a confirmed COVID-19 case.
The red icon alert will display the business name and date of the positive COVID-19 case and general advice to monitor for symptoms and get tested if symptoms appear.
It may not mean you were at the venue at the same time as the positive case.
People who receive a push notification or see a COVID-19 case alert in their check-in history should monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they feel unwell.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard said NSW Health contact tracers would still contact positive cases and close contacts to provide them with testing and isolation advice.
A location is classified as a transmission venue of concern when a confirmed case of COVID-19 has visited it and transmission has occurred. Case locations and the details around venues, such as times and dates of visits by a COVID positive case can be also be found at https://www.nsw.gov.au/nsw-COVID-19-case-location-map
How to get push notifications from NSW Health
- Open the Service NSW app on your phone
- In the top right-hand corner of the app is the settings icon (it looks like a cog)
- Press this to open up a new page showing preferences
- At the top of the list is 'Notifications'
- Press this and you will see 'Push notifications'. Make sure this is turned on.
The Service NSW app now lets you know when you've been to a venue on the same day as a person with COVID-19. You'll receive a notification on your phone, which will prompt you to view your check-in history for more information such as the business name, date and what you need to do.
