Glenda Blanch of Nelligen is at home now, slowly recovering from back surgery a few weeks ago. Glenda cannot wait to get out into her beautiful garden and all those bushes and plants that are now starting to flower, with a bit of warmer weather that we have had. Glenda is hoping to be able to put some of those beautiful bunches together later this week, which will be available at the Marketplace in Batehaven.

Depending on her recovery, Glenda is hoping to be able to open her wonderful gardens to the public, in a few months time.
The very sudden, unexpected passing of Mary Backhouse of Nelligen has been sadly felt by her relatives and friends in Nelligen and surrounds. Mary will be sadly missed by the various groups that she belonged to.
Marge Potter of Batehaven spent a lovely day on Sunday with her family, and especially her little great granddaughter.
Lorraine McDonald of North Batemans Bay told me that her ignorance of ACT school zones rewarded her with a fine of $321 and the loss of a Demerit point. Lorraine has very seldom travelled to Canberra, but was there for a medical appointment and was not aware the school zones are limited to 40kph between 8am and 4pm. Maybe a warning for other locals who have to travel to Canberra.
Your regular Gossip Gal Dawn has finally returned from her epic journey in a Motor home from here up to Darwin, driving along the south and west coasts. Dawn was booked to fly home, into Canberra, when someone told her the road was closed daily and she would not be able to get home. This put Dawn into a bit of a panic, but she finally found out that won't be happening until the end of the month.
After a complaint by our local Member Andrew Constance, these closures may be modified, as most people think that the closures are too severe and will damage the suffering economies in Braidwood and on the coast. We will have to wait and see.
Celebrating their birthdays this week are Lavina White who has her big day today, 12th and to Karen Ison, who will be blowing out the candles tomorrow. I think that both of them may be big birthdays, too.
As well, my big sister Beryl Lee, who reads this column, will be celebrating today.
