An extraordinary meeting of the council will be held on Thursday, December 17 to consider Cr Mayne's notice of motion.
At council's Tuesday December 8 meeting, councillors voted 6-3 to commence negotiations with local Aboriginal housing corporation SEARMS to lease the centre commencing July 2021.
Cr Mayne's motion called for Tuesday's decision to be rescinded and "that council resolve to maintain the Community Centre as currently being operated; with a review of those operations and functions being undertaken after the completion of the Batemans Bay Aquatic, Arts and Leisure Centre."
Councillors Lindsay Brown and Rob Pollock wrote to Mayor Liz Innes on Friday to request an extraordinary meeting to consider the rescission motion, as the council's next scheduled meeting was in February 2021.
The council said lease negotiations with SEARMS cannot proceed while a rescission motion is in place.
Thursday's extraordinary meeting starts at 2pm and will be held via Zoom.
A public forum session allowing residents to address the agenda item will be held on the same day from 9.30-10.30am.
Speakers must register before 12pm Wednesday, December 16 at council.meetings@esc.nsw.gov.au or by calling 4474 1358.
