Rebecca is the daughter of ex Moruya couple Sonia and John Scott and was married on Saturday. Rebecca looked stunning is a full skirted bridal gown with a lace top and carried a bouquet of white lillies and roses.
The bridesmaids were Mikayla Burke and Cass Allison and the groomsmen Aaron Bond and Steve Spitiri. The cake was made by good friend Barb Smith of Moruya. A magnificent three tier, featuring flowers from the bridal party in white and purple. Barbara and her husband Bruce headed off to the wedding early Saturday morning with the precious cargo in a box on their back seat. They were turned back due to flooding on the highway and had to make their way cross country through Nerriga.
Anyone who has traveled that back road knows about the corrugated section. The trip, normally two hours, took five but miraculously the cake arrived in one piece! Happy birthday to beautiful Lavina White, mother, grand mother and great grandmother and a wonderful friend. I know you would have been surrounded by friends and family Lavina, so I hope you survived!
Carolyn Meyer is happy that her backyard reminder of that horrible New Years Eve day in 2020 is finally being removed, thanks to the Laing O'Rourke team. They certainly have been doing great work.
At the store there was a big 'X' on the floor. I've seen too many road runner cartoons to fall for that!'
Chrissy Guirney is excited to have her book, 'When The Smoke Clears', on the best seller list with the legendary Australia wide book store Koorong. Congratulations Chrissy!
Great to see local Ron Shaw on Channel 7 during an interview with Chris Maher, explaining about the local flooding.
You can rest now Ron, your five minutes of fame is over! Well done!
Just when we thought we were no longer a 'hotspot' ... I have had to cancel a trip to Darwin to catch up with my best buddy Michele Langshaw. Michele was very disappointed as she loves to see folk from the Bay visiting the NT and to catch up with what's happening in her hometown.
To their credit, Virgin and Jetstar have given me credits!
Happy Birthday to gorgeous Karen Watson last Saturday. I hope you enjoyed your special day Karen.
Don't forget the hard waste pickup for Bimbimbie, Mogo, Broulee, Mossy Point, Tomakin, Woodlands, Dunns Creek Road, Guerilla Bay and Rosedale is Monday, August 17 ... unless I get to it first!
