Mr Slockee has played for the Queen, Desmond Tutu, Governor General and other dignitaries. He has also played at the War Memorial Dawn Service.
Ms Ellis is a TAFE NSW Aboriginal Coordinator and was awarded the Bruce Kendall Award for Recognition of Service to TAFE NSW.
This year marks the United Nations' international Year of Indigenous Language. The event raises awareness of those who speak the languages and for others to appreciate the contribution they make to the world's cultural diversity.
