The unprecedented motion was tabled following a series of loud interruptions from Fight for Batemans Bay’s 50-metre Pool campaigner Peter Coggan.
Mr Coggan’s outburst began after the Budget Review for the period ended March 31 was tabled. Mayor Liz Innes requested members of the public not interrupt the debate several times before asking Mr Coggan to leave the chambers. Mr Coggan refused to do so.
It is understood the council’s standard practice would be to call police, however, it was moved the meeting be moved to a separate room instead.
The meeting also included: the Moruya to South Head pathway, support for the Fix It Now campaign, an extension of public viewing for the Rural Lands Strategy, an investment policy amendment and upgrades for the Batemans Bay Library.
