Scott Gerrard will appear on 15 charges, including Skye’s Law times two, mid-range drink driving and driving in a manner dangerous in Batemans Bay Local Court on February 29.
Police said they received a complaint about a white Ford sedan at midnight on Saturday morning and began pursuing it along Beach Road at Batemans Bay.
Police terminated the chase due to it occurring in a built up area, but then spotted the vehicle on the Princes Highway at Batemans Bay, and it started again.
They pursued the vehicle down the highway to Moruya, then along George Bass Drive to Tomakin, then along Tomakin Road in the direction of Mogo. Spikes were placed on Tomakin Road, and they punctured the front near side tyre of the car, but the chase continued along the Princes Highway and then the Kings Highway past Nelligen to the Clyde Mountain.
During the pursuit, the passenger of the car made rude finger gestures to the pursuing police.
The vehicle drove along Black Flat Road and dirt roads connected to it, before the driver and passenger abandoned it and tried to flee from police.
They were unsuccessful and were both arrested.
