Bega MP Andrew Constance said he had no further comment to make on claims by Moruya resident Damien Rogers that gas pipe, rather than water pipe, might have been used in the Moruya to Deep Creek waterline.

The NSW Department of Public Works has refuted the claims, and said that the steel pipes "were specifically designed and manufactured for water transmission."
"I don't have anything further to add," Mr Constance said.
"The facts are all known now."
As previously reported in the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner, a department spokesman said an extensive assessment of the pipeline was conducted by the Water Services Association of Australia, and all standards were met.
