The Southern NSW Local Health District has recorded more than 150 new cases of COVID-19 as the district announces a change to the way they report new cases.

There were 1509 new cases recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm on Thursday, December 30, including 70 in the Queanbeyan-Palerang, 10 in Goulburn Mulwaree, six in the Upper Lachlan, 12 in the Bega Valley, seven in the Eurobodalla, 27 in the Snowy Monaro, and 27 in the Yass Valley.
This means there are now 471 active cases of COVID-19 in the health district, including 92 cases undergoing virtual care, an increase of 19 since yesterday's figures.
Thankfully two people have been released from hospital over the past 24 hours.
SNSWLHD also announced today their daily updates would no longer include a breakdown by town/suburb.
There have now been 1113 cases of COVID-19 in the SNSWLHD since June, 2021, and four people have tragically died with the virus.
