The cases, all linked to the Batemans Bay cluster, came after four were recorded in the town yesterday.

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) also identified three new cases in Yass and one in Goulburn.

This brings the total cases in SNSWLHD to 69 since the start of the current outbreak in June.

Everyone in the district should be alert for any symptoms that could signal COVID-19 including headache, nausea, sore throat, runny nose, cough, loss of smell or taste, or fever.

If symptoms appear, people must isolate and get tested immediately, and remain isolated until a negative result is received.

NSW has recorded its lowest daily increase in COVID-19 cases since August 28, with 1083 new locally acquired infections reported in the 24 hours to 8pm Saturday.

However, case numbers in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District remain high, with another 64 people testing positive for the virus.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said it was too early to say whether the state had already seen the peak in infections, but the signs were looking good.

All outdoor pools across NSW will be permitted to reopen from Monday, September 27, while the 12 local government areas of concern will move to the same rules as the rest of Greater Sydney on Monday September 20, except for the authorised workers and permit system.

Sadly, another 13 people with COVID have died, aged from their 40s to their 80s.

There are 1,238 people with COVID admitted to hospital, with 234 people in intensive care, 123 of whom require ventilation.

In NSW, 81.9 per cent of people aged 16 and over have now had at least their first dose of the vaccine while 51.9 per cent have had both shots.

Seventeen per cent of 12 to 15-year-olds in NSW have already had their first shot.
