Reverend Timothy Narraway of the Anglican Parish of Cobargo-Bermagui put a call out for local residents to place teddy bears in their front windows for children to spot while travelling past.
The fun initiative was inspired by the book Going On A Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury, and is popping up in numerous Australian towns.
"The activity works for parents and kids to have a fun activity outside, while still being able to keep physical distance," Rev Narraway said.
Whether you're travelling by car, or taking children on a walk to get some fresh air - while maintaining appropriate social distancing - there are friendly furry faces you may be able to spot.
Sarah at Bermagui said it is giving her an opportunity to "embrace my inner child".
"I am surprised and absolutely delighted that so many people actually have teddy bears and are joining in to have some fun with them.
"I have a green bear. I bought it because I've never come across a green bear - it's different and despite its difference it wants to be seen and included.
"We used to live in Wandella and our house burnt down and now we are 'living' in a caravan park in Bermagui and it is difficult to find us.
"So the bear is in the car looking out through the window - please look out for us."
Other bears have a very emotional story to share
Raven lost her parents as a child and Humphrey is the only thing that remains of the parents.
Raven's partner lost his mother to cancer and she made Blue Bear. The kids only know their grandmother through Blue Bear.
