"In recognition of the importance of the profitability of the proposed splash park at the new Mackay Park aquatic centre, the Corrigans splashpad is modest. There is no tipping bucket or water slide and all features are at ground level. Calls for the splash area have come from parents who generally cannot afford fees and whose disabled children may find the aquatic centre confronting. Incorporating attractions for children with special needs in one location makes sense, as transport is extremely difficult for these families."
