The North Durras resident and her partner are regular visitors to drought-stricken western NSW – and her photos show just how bad the situation is.
“It looks like Mars,” she said of a recent visit to a friend’s wheat and cattle farm between Warren and Coonamble.
She has shared their plight on social media and hopes readers will help buy bales of hay.
“The owners are really struggling every day as they watch their cows die and their livelihood go down the gurgler,” she said.
“They are proud people, but you can see the pain they are in, as they can only afford to hand feed every two days.”
Ms Corby said many people were shocked to see the graphic images of dead stock.
“But I have found to my surprise that numerous younger people have responded in a very compassionate way after seeing the Facebook post, which is very reassuring,” she said.
