Eurobodalla Live Music will present three exhilarating musical events over two days, including the hugely-popular Festival of Voice, a special Gospel Service and Sunday afternoon concert, all at the Moruya Golf Club.
This year will mark the ninth time the Festival of Voice has been staged since its inaugural concert in 2009.
Festival of Voice coordinator, Gloria Bell, said since the event’s inception, different musical and vocal styles have continued to delight audiences – and this year will be no different.
All-female barbershop quartet The Shenanigans will return to Moruya, along with soloists Fiona Jones and Feona Baranowski; singer-guitarists Billy Stait and Robin Simpson; Tathra duo Red Heart Blue; and the Deep River Choir and Sing Australia.
The Festival of Voice will commence at 1pm on Saturday, October 13, with doors opening at 12.30pm.
On Sunday, October 14, start the day with a special Gospel Service from 10.30am. Gospel singers will leave the church to meet the community, performing at the Moruya Golf Club auditorium.
Kay Killick will lead an inspirational service with the Moruya Brass Band and massed choirs. Joining them will be soloists Paul Marshall, Fiona Jones and Steve Johnston.
Fiona Jones has returned to the limelight this year and will be the feature artist. Jones has found her niche in gospel singing and will start off the service with a moving Introit. She will return later in the service with some more songs, expertly served in her inimitable way.
Steve Johnston has torn himself away from his busy rehearsal schedule to not only conduct the choir but also to render The Lord’s Prayer.
An array of huge and glorious brass instruments will be there, ready to be played by enthusiastic band members to accompany the singing.
Sing Australia will be tune as always, conducted by Kathie Harris. They will be joined by the Tuross Singers under the baton of Steve Johnston.
Capping off the weekend will be a Sunday afternoon concert, commencing at 1pm, featuring Jeff Holley’s King Size Brass, with Peter Poole on trombone and trumpet.
Poole will dust off arrangements of some of the best songs from the big band era to wind up the weekend with a bold sound for listening and dancing.
There will also be encore performances from The Shenanigans and Red Heart Blue.
