With the 2017 bushwalking year over, it was time to catch up with walking mates one last time at the Batemans Bay Bushwalkers Christmas party – this year held at JJ’s at the Moorings, Tomakin.
Khaki green was swapped for more colourful attire and wine glasses replaced water bottles.
The good weather saw members out in the courtyard behind the venue, gathered around the spit roast in anticipation.
Several foundation members from the club’s inception in 1985 still walk and came along to celebrate with ensuing generations and new members who have recently joined.
It was an enjoyable afternoon and after celebrating Christmas with family and friends, members are all looking forwards to another big year of fun and adventure out in the bush.
The Batemans Bay Bushwalkers group has about 200 members. We are not-for-profit and run by volunteers.
We publish four walks programs per year, with two walks a week of varying grades. Visitors are welcome on walks and are covered by our insurance for three walks per financial year.
Walks are led by volunteer Walk Leaders, who carry a GPS, topographic map, and when appropriate, a safety beacon.
Each walk is graded for difficulty.
