Donna took members on a tour of the library site, pointing out the various options available, such as searching for a book by title, author, or genre. She also demonstrated how to reserve and renew books. Donna then moved on to the library’s digital resources, including e-books, audio books and databases such as Trove. Library members visiting the library can also access the ancestry.com website, a popular family history resource.

As well as e-book resource Borrow Box, the library now subscribes to RBdigital, and Donna introduced Malcolm O’Brien to demonstrate this app. Malcolm explained that 11 libraries in the southeast zone had pooled resources to give members access to hundreds of e-magazines and digital audio and e-books, including latest releases. He demonstrated how to download and set up the app on mobile phones and tablets.

After morning tea, Donna and Malcolm helped a small group download and operate the RBdigital app while other groups covered buying, selling and managing stocks and shares, basic photography with a smart phone, and editing photos.

The next EuroSCUG meeting will be held at Moruya Golf Club at 10am on Wednesday, October 4. Guest speaker Adrianna Shepherd from Cartridge World, Batemans Bay, will return to speak about things to look for when purchasing a new printer. She will also cover how to care for cartridges, and save money on printing.

After morning tea, small groups will cover such topics as Apple TV, Templates, editing photos with Photofiltre, and Windows 10. A beginner’s group and help desk will also be available.

EuroSCUG meets at 10am on the first Wednesday of the month at Moruya Golf Club, and local area groups meet regularly in Batemans Bay, Moruya, Tuross Head and Narooma. Monthly tablet groups (iPad and Android) are also held.
