Tuross Head Men
The Tuross Head Country Club men's golf Scoty stableford competition held on Saturday resulted in an easy win for Paul Israel with an excellent score of 42 points. He was followed by John Phyland with 37 points ahead of Allen Gannon with 35 and Gerald Strickland and Ross Hendy who both handed in cards of 34 points.
Nearest the pin winners were:
A grade golfer Jason Nilolic was best on the 4th with 3.00m. and Mark Haberkorn won the 6th with 3.24m.
B grade player Paul Scholze was closest on the 4th hole with 0.275m and Paul also won the 7th with 2.27m.
C grade player John Eglitis was awarded the 4th hole with a very close 12.7 centimetres, and the day's event winner, Paul Israel was best on the 6th with 4.80m. Mike Allen won the 7th with 8.19m.
Thursday's 18 hole stableford medley competition was won by Chris Wratten with 39 points ahead of David Schmid 38, Rex Wood 36 and Colin Houghton 33 points. Nearest the pins were won by Peter Nikolic on the 4th hole with 7.13m. Colin Houghton won the 6th with 3.85m and Colin was also best on the 7th with 3.27m.
Tuross Head Ladies
Tuesday's game was the ladies gold medal playoff with 17 starters. The gold medal winner was - Gail Rogers with a 75 net after a countback from - Pauline Nash also with a 75 net. In third place it was - Lyn Benger with a 76 net. The daily winner's were, division one - Gail Rogers & Pauline Nash. Division two - Annette Manton & Judy Apps. Division three - Jeanette Miller & Wendy Schmid. Pauline Nash had the lowest off the stick score with a 96 gross.
Nearest the pin on the sixth was won by - Leonie Snodgrass and the golden hole in division one went to - Chris Wratten and in division two it was - Jeanette Miller. The putting competition was won by - Leonie Doolan with 27 putts. Balls went to - Lyn Benger, Elsa Shearer, Jennifer Gray & Jenny Wark.

Wednesday saw 56 starters take advantage of the warm spring weather to play in a stroke & putt event. The winner was - Leonie Snodgrass with a 31 net, followed by - Kay McLeod with a 32 net. In third place it was - Mike Kermode with a 32 net. The Bradmans went to - Tony Crook & the Accuracy drive was won by - Frank Pomfret.
Nearest the pins - fourth - Greg Smith. Sixth - Peter McRae. Seventh - Kay McLeod & Steve Crossling. Ball or chocolate went to - Sandra Hanlon - 32 net. Paul Periera, Derek Hoare, Les Johanson - 33 net. Neil Watson - 34 net. Chris Wratten, Anna Heuston, David Williams, Jeanette Miller, Dave Monroe - 35 net. Steve Johnston - 36 net.
The putting competition was won by - Henry Anderson with 12 putts. This game was also the final round of the Vet's championships. Winner to be announced next week. Next week will be a single stableford event.
