Bill Smith Patrons Day
Saturday, August 5, saw 46 bowlers participate in the Bill Smith Patrons Day. A good day was had by all, unfortunately Bill Smith was unable to attend due to ill health.
Patrons are people 'of note' who are prepared to support causes or organisations and are role models who encourage others to support an organisation and are willing to attend fundraising, friend-raising, social and official functions whenever they can.
Bill Smith joined the Tomakin Men's Bowling Club in 1983 and has been a member for 34 years. He was Club President for two years, has been Club Patron for nine years, has participated in several District and State pennant sides and as Patron his side won the 2015 District Patrons Shield.
Championships Bill Smith has won include Major Singles twice, Major Pairs twice, Club Triples twice and Club Fours six times – quite an achievement.
