A 69-year-old grandmother has won a $1.5million Keno jackpot while enjoying a family night with her husband and grandson at the Merimbula RSL Club on Friday night.
The elated grannie wasn’t watching the moment when all 10 out 10 of her numbers came up but was celebrating the win with friends after being told by club staff she’d won the $1,598,264 cash prize.
“I just can’t believe it,” the woman said moments after being told she’d won the jackpot.
“Honestly, I can’t get over it. It’s a wonderful surprise. It’s really lovely,” she said.
The woman said she and her husband retired to Merimbula from the north, but she had only stopped working in January last year.
Her plans include paying off the family home, buying a car and travelling.
“I just want my husband to be happy. He’s always put me first so now I just want to spoil him,” she said.
She spent just $20 on the ticket, playing 20 $1 Keno Classic games.
The winning numbers were 6, 15, 17, 34, 46, 51, 53, 72, 75, and 78.
