Moruya Blue vs Batemans Bay
Moruya Blue were looking to keep pace with Bodalla, Broulee and Clyde in the race to the semis whilst Batemans Bay desperately needed three points to kick-start their charge for a semi’s berth later on in the season.
Early on, Moruya Blue were the happier of the two, with goals to Tom Harris and Reon Halverson-Green in the first half giving them a two-goal lead at halftime.
Come fulltime, goals from Evan Bayley, a penalty from the normally goal shy Ross Newman and another for Tom Harris completing his brace, meant that the Blues ran out 5-0 winners.
Bodalla vs Clyde
With Bodalla seven points clear of their nearest rival going into this game, they looked to have the minor premiership wrapped up, but an upset from Clyde would give themselves and the chasing pack a chance to catch up.
In an evenly contested game, Bodalla’s strike power proved the difference, with goals to Mitchel Smith and Alex Connelly before halftime, coupled with a brace from Kyle Dixon after the break. Bodalla won 4-1, with Clyde’s goal courtesy of a well-taken strike from Paul Jenner.
On Friday at Gundary Oval Moruya Swans play Clyde United at 6pm and Broulee Stingrays play Batemans Bay at 7:45pm.
