Far from everyone pretending Harvey does not exist, the handmade elephant is already a hot topic of playground conversation as students rehearse for their shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Teacher Sharon McCutcheon said about 100 students from years 7-12 and staff had “put together a jaw-dropping performance”.
There will be trapeze, stilt walking, fire breathing, fire twirling, drama, dance, music, art works and installations.
There will also be plenty of interaction with the crowd, via a life-size chess board, arts and craft activities and rides.
In pursuit of a carnival atmosphere, students have volunteered for duck shooting duty – as the ducks – so get those water pistols ready.
“There will be lots of chances for kids to make circus souvenirs,” Ms McCutcheon said.
The audience is asked to dress in red, white and black.
A light supper, including fairy floss and popcorn, will be provided.
Ms McCutcheon said the show was inspired by the novel, The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern.
There will be workshops in walking a mini tightrope and spinning plates.
Tickets are $15 or $50 for a family pass.
