The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a gale warning for the Batemans coast through to midnight Thursday, March 30.
Fogs and mists are formed when air cools to its dew point – they are clouds at ground level. The difference between fog and mist is visibility.
Generally, mist becomes fog when visibility is less than 200 metres on land or 2000 metres on sea.
