Batemans Bay’s Darcy Harding has racked up more game time for the Sydney Kings, coming on during the final minutes of his side’s 84-57 win against the NZ Breakers on Sunday.
It was the first time Darcy had played on the King’s home court, after making his debut for the side against Breakers in Auckland two weeks ago.
Darcy said while there were similarities between the context of his appearances, Sunday’s match carried an important difference.
“It was the same story pretty much,” he said.
“The game was already decided, so I was brought on to get some experience.
“My family was out in the crowd which gave me a bit of a boost.
“There wasn’t really any opportunity to do anything pivotal, so I just wanted to make sure I was solid defensively and did my best for the team.”
A raucous home crowd of 7,803 saw the Kings fight back from an early deficit in running their record to 13-13 on the season, maintaining third spot on the NBL ladder after what was the biggest win over the Breakers in franchise history.
