A new committee has been elected and has organised some great outings and talks for 2017.

First up is a talk on flowers of summer.
Members of the committee will demonstrate the beautiful native flowers that are in their gardens at the moment using state-of-the-art technology to allow us to project clear pictures of even the tiniest flowers.
Meet at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens at 10am on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
To give an example of our outings, our last walk was to forests west and north of Batemans Bay.
After a visit to Cliff Williams’ garden we drove along Western Distributor Road stopping at quite a few sites to observe varied understorey plants as the aspect changed.
The brooding hills of the Budawang Range with its influence on rainfall and wind allowed varied forest types to thrive within Currowan SF and the understorey changed constantly.
We had lunch at Mares Hill Road and Yadboro SF.

We then moved on through Clyde SF towards Mogood Lookout.
The lookout offered impressive views north across the Pigeon House Range, east to the coast and Durras Mountain, south across the ranges of Moruya and west to the broad sweep of the Great Dividing Range.
After Shallow Crossing we drove along Barkshed Road to a recently logged site where we stopped and discussed the pros and cons of such activity.
About us
The Australian Plants Society South East region aims to promote an awareness of Australian native plants in our community, inform its members about native plants and act as a social group for people with an interest in these plants.
Meetings
We meet generally on the first Saturday of each month except December and January. As our group covers the coastal area from Batemans Bay to the Victorian border and inland to the Monaro we meet at varying locations.
Members
We currently have over 80 members making the group an active and friendly one. Our members mainly live in the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley Shires but anyone is more than welcome to join.
Newsletter
Our newsletter contains details of meetings and trips as well as information on plants and habitats and tips on propagation. It is produced every month except January.
