The pair have been preparing for the Eurobodalla District Show event and are no strangers to the competition.
Having competed across Australia in the challenge, Michael Green said he was looking forward to competing on home turf for only the second time.
“It was a hit two years ago. The crowd loved it,” he said.
“Your average horse doesn’t go around the course that we set out.”
Michael said he wasn’t feeling confident about a win.
“I didn’t go too bad overall last time round at the Moruya show,” he said.
“We have been riding every day, just not the horses we will be riding in the challenge.”
Competitors from up to eight hours away are expected to take part in the two-day event.
It involves six tasks, which are completed over the weekend.
The competitor with the most points will win.
Michael said his favourite task in the challenge was the brumby catch.
“It isn’t in the Moruya challenge this year,” he said.
“Next would have to be the poley buckjump. That would have to be the feature event.
“It is thrilling for the crowd.
“It is probably the hardest. You never know what you are getting onto.
“At Moruya, there will be a bareback obstacle course, a shoeing task, back horse, whip crack targets, jumping and the buck jump.”
Although the brothers will be competing against each other at Moruya, Neal said Michael was better.
He said the bareback obstacle would provide the best entertainment for the crowd.
Neal hoped the Moruya event would encourage more riders on the coast to give the challenge a go.
“Apart from us, there are no competitors on the coast,” he said.
“It is really strong through the tablelands and in Victoria. Moruya is an exhibition as much as anything.”
The show is at the Moruya Showground.
