A man will appear in court next month after allegedly stealing a yacht and taking it for a ride in Batemans Bay overnight on Monday..

About 7pm on December 14, police received reports the man and three children were missing from a home on Beach Road, Batemans Bay.
Officers attached to Far South Coast Local Area Command also received reports a yacht had allegedly been stolen from a Marina in Batemans Bay overnight.
An extensive search was conducted overnight by Fisheries NSW, Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Roads and Maritime Services, Marine Rescue and Rescue 24 from Wollongong.
About 11am on Tuesday, December 15, a 42-year-old man and four children aged 8, 12, 13 and 14, were allegedly found on board the stolen yacht at North Durras, north of Batemans Bay.
The group on board, as well as the yacht, were led back to Batemans Bay; where the 42-year-old man was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.
He has been charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and granted conditional bail, to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on 18 January 2016.
Police thanked members of the community and media for their assistance with the matter.
