The closely-fought sports final saw Sydney crew Sandy Point and a combined crew from Merimbula take out the minor placings.
It was an unexpected and pleasing result for the Nature Coast crew as rain had hampered training before the regatta.
Nature Coast crews paddle on Moruya River and have recently been engaged in a successful membership drive, holding Come and Try Days and joining the Eurobodalla Council's Rego Road-show events in Moruya and Batemans Bay.
Club president John Holgate said that apart from competing in as many regattas as possible over the summer season, the club's focus was on attracting new members.
He says instruction and coaching is provided for all new paddlers.
The club also offers sweep training for anyone interested in learning what is involved in steering a dragon boat fully laden with 22 paddlers.
The Dragon Boat Club meets at the Moruya town ramp (next to Moruya pool) on Tuesdays at 5.15pm and on Saturdays at 8.15am for paddling sessions.
New paddlers and sweeps of all ages and fitness levels are welcome.
