TWO of the Broulee Dolphins Rugby Union Club’s junior team emerged victorious after a tough semi-final round of the ACT Junior Rugby Union competition in Canberra on Saturday.

Broulee had five junior teams in the semi-final matches and the under 12s and under 14s have booked grand final berths at Viking Park this Saturday.
The under 10s team was determined in its first final, but lost to a well-drilled Marist College team 26-nil.
The under 12s match against Burgmann Anglican School was a nail-biter, with Broulee winning 12-7.
The club’s under 14s put on a dominant display of team work to beat a combined Tablelands and Gungahlin team 54-5.
The under 16s played against Cooma.
It proved to be a solid contest between second and third on the ladder and, despite battling hard, the Dolphins lost 27-19.
The under 18s tackled the juggernauts of their competition, St Edmunds College second XV.
Injury and illness took a toll on reserve numbers before the game.
Broulee was limited to 14 players before half-time and gave everything they could in a 72-7 loss.
Dolphins Rugby Club president John Edmunds congratulated all the club’s junior players.
“We are very proud of everyone’s efforts to get to the finals; for a regional club we do pretty well amongst the Canberra clubs and schools,” Edmunds said.
“We will all be barracking for our two teams representing us at the grand finals.
“Win, lose or draw, this is a special achievement for everyone involved.”
